Project background:
How to put together a Youth Exchange is an answer for the needs of young people who are eager to implement their own youth exchange project, but they didn’t have the opportunity to see the big picture of a youth project. During the activities and the debriefing participants they will have the opportunity to see and have an in depth picture about how a youth exchange builds up, the methodology or the steps of designing a youth exchange and at last, but not at least they will have the possibility to share and to learn tips and tricks connected to youth exchanges from experienced youth workers, trainers, etc.
Objectives:
- Within this program participants will have the chance to further develop their youth exchanges as a project coordinator, facilitator and writer. In line with the European Training Strategy in the frame of Erasmus+ Youth programme the training course considers the following competences to be essential when individuals or group of youth are designing their own youth exchanges:
- The competence to understand the opportunities of the Erasmus+ project especially the opportunities of a youth exchange
- The competence to understand the structure of a youth exchange project
- The competence to design youth exchange programmes.
- The competence to coordinate their own youth exchange program
- The competence to co-operate successfully in international teams
- The competence to understand and facilitate individual and group learning processes.
The methodology:
The youth exchange will be based mostly on non-formal education and its holistic approach. The participants will improve their competencies mentioned above through non-formal methods like brainstorming sessions, group works, simulation, role play, open group discussion. The participants will have the opportunity to have an open space for reflection at the end of each day. Beside the mentioned methods and activities other methods will be adapted based on the needs and experiences of participants by the trainers of the project.
Expected results of the training course:
The participants at the end of the project will have a brief understanding of a youth exchange project from the phase of development until the implementation phase and also the coordination of the project itself. After the ‘’How to put together a Youth Exchange” project the participants will have the possibility and the needed tools to implement their own project or be better in project coordination and implementation.
