ERASMUS+ MOBILITY OF YOUTH WORKER
Intro:
After a training in Estonia 2019, about citizenship, the participants engaged in the talk about how today’s world is influenced by different media and the way the information is passed. This happened before the forced isolation by the pandemic, the phenomena are just possible due to the vast amount of information easily accessed and many persuasion techniques that influence young people. We believe that it’s ESSENTIAL for a youth worker/leader to be able to decode the messages that they receive and be able to adapt the available tools – social media.
Expected results of the seminar:
- Our project will influence our participants by motivating and giving the competencies to reach youngsters, and therefore, to make actions in their local society through smart social media campaigns.
- We want to give our participants a chance to participate in professional training containing necessary knowledge as well as the opportunity for a deeper discussion on the topic of inclusion and participation through a very popular and easy tool to work with.
Concept:
During the training course, participants will develop methods and campaigns on different social media platforms and also will develop proposals. This may result in impacting the local level by applying these methods in their own organizations or communities. Since the topic of the course also includes communication, then we will create awareness and initiatives that would create an even bigger community of participation. This will lead to the fact that not only participants of the course are aware of the concept, but it spreads to a very wide group of people all around Europe
The project contributes to:
- to empower participants into smart and efficient use of social media, thus reflected into future initiatives that they will create, causes that they will support, as well as future and ongoing projects and campaigns.
- to provide competencies to effectively structure and deliver public communication, to those young people who are not active in the youth CSO sector. To demonstrate that there is a choice, there is another voice, and ultimately that there is an opportunity to join the local youth NGOs.
Objectives:
- Understand participation as a core value for inclusion in Europe, and its implication is a responsibility as youth workers and leaders.
- Through experience and practice understand how social media functions and its potential as a tool for activists;
- Explore movements that made history and imagine how they would have looked if social media existed;
- Tools for critical thinking of web-based information, understanding of hate/smear campaigns when used for young people;
- Reflect on their own reality, transfer and action planning of messages to involve young people to act.

Participant Profile:
- youth workers/leaders who are in general working in the youth field, doing seminars, training, workshops, and campaigns;
- participants who are committed to carry out campaigns having the social related attributes
- aged 18+
- young people, interested in youth participation;
- experience working with young people;
- knowledge of the situation of young people in their own country;
- motivation to take part in a mutual learning process in a very intercultural setting;
- good level of English to follow the seminar and to contribute to it;
- wish and ability to participate fully in the event;
- participants with fewer opportunities
Accomondation and Food:
The participants will be accommodated in Árkos Education Center, Arcuș , from two to three bedded rooms.
Each room has a private bathroom and toilet. Bed linens and towels are provided. Breakfasts, lunches, dinners and coffee breaks per day will be provided by the organizers.

Departure day: 15h February 2023
Travelling to Romania:
Romania is part of the European Union, but not part of the Schengen area.
The official currency in Romania is lei (RON), to understand approximately how much money you are using, normally you can calculate it in this way: 1 Euro = 4,94 RON , 1 American Dollar = 4.56 RON. So we suggest you go and change your EUR. Tip: use Revolut (https://www.revolut.com/) or Wise (https://wise.com/)

ONLY INTERNATIONAL TRAVELS ARE COVERED!
The travel arrangements will be done by the coordinating organisation. As soon as the participants are selected the project coordinator will get in touch for further arrangements.
The course is implemented in the frame of the Erasmus+ Programme. The costs – including costs of full-board and accommodation during the program – will be covered by the organizers.
Participants are expected to cover insurance and any additional personal expenses.
If the participant fails to attend the event the organisers shall be compelled to charge him/her for any travel expenses covered by the organisers.

- Health insurance documents: the health/ travel insurance is in the responsibility of the participants, make sure you are covered during your stay in Hungary!
