Volunteering in a Kindergarten!
Call for individual volunteers
Who can participate?
- Aged between 18-30
- Pro-active, able to create activities on their own
- Active and open, interested in new contacts, knowledge, impressions, and personal development, eager to learn other languages and cultures
- Motivated to work with children aged 2-6 and create activities for them
- Willing to share time, skills and knowledge and opened to learning in an international environment – Interest in entrepreneurship, startups and innovation is a plus, just as good writing skills
- Eager to create activities for local community
The volunteers will be selected among youngsters deeply motivated to work with children and contribute to their development and possibly among those with a little experience with children or a degree in primary education. We will encourage them, once they get to know the working methods of the kindergarten and nursery to create their own games, handcraft classes etc. By their presence, we would like to promote cross-cultural activities, solidarity and European values. Volunteers will get full guidance and will develop by actually doing their activities.
When and Where?
in Budapest, Hungary between 5th of September 2023 – 5th of September 2024
MAIN ACTIVITIES:
During the morning the volunteers will be assisting the teachers in Még töbBMEsét Kindergarten, where the activities involve:
- communication with children, playing with them
- supporting children in daily activities
- preparing and guide activities for children between age 2-6
- coping with different learning methods of children
- boosting up volunteers’ creativity, be proactive and adapt the games to the children’s needs
- learning from teachers’ methods
- language teaching and creating creative learning games and activities based on the skills of the volunteer
- organising events and celebrations
After lunch the volunteers join MeOut office in the centre of Budapest where they will plan and implement activities for the local community and support project management tasks:
- creating workshops for locals (e.g language course, yoga, urban gardening etc. based on the skills and interest of the volunteer)
- organising local events (Solidarity Breakfast, youth meetings etc.)
VOLUNTEER’S CONDITIONS:
Accommodation
The accommodation costs are covered. Volunteers will live in a shared flat equipped with all the necessary utilities for comfortable living. The house has a big open living room, a kitchen and two bathrooms. The two kindergarten volunteers will share the biggest room in the house.
Allowance
Each month volunteer’s receive a total of 99,500 HUF (ap. 250EUR) pocket money, food money including the price of the local transportation ticket. Volunteers can choose to save this money or buy the public transportation card every month
International transport
The transportation from home country to Hungary and back will be covered according to the distance calculator of Erasmus+ program.
Insurance
The volunteer will have Cigna Health insurance.
Language support
The volunteer will have access to the Online Language Support to learn Hungarian.
Volunteer’s training cycle
The volunteer will have on-arrival and mid-term training provided by the Hungarian National Agency.
General support
- Support before, during, after the activities
- Evaluation meetings
- Mentor and supervisors’ support
- Extra certificates if they participate in specific activities (which will report the specific learning outcomes) or recommendation letters if they need one
Extra activities
The volunteers will be involved in the activities of MeOut organisation. They will help to organise local activities and support the administration or Erasmus+ project writing. The office activities are strongly based on the skills and interests of the volunteers.
