PROJECT PURPOSES:
Re-Think! is a 9-day multilateral youth exchange that will take place in Slovakia that involves 6 partner countries and aims to discover more about Re-thinking upcycling (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle,Refuse, Recover) principles in their communities while we better understand different cultures, their values, expectations,behavior, and communication. During the activities and debriefing, we will lose some prejudice about nations and cultures and appreciate the richness of diversity and the advantages of peaceful cooperation in Europe through environmental education.
OBJECTIVES:
- To Reduce, Reuse, Recycle, Refuse, Recover material consumption in daily life through sharing good practices among young people and partner organizations;
- To share knowledge about what is practicable in materials management in partners’ countries through research and practice;
- To create a community of “green” conscientious young people working on sustainable resources for the implementation of joint activities;
- To gain and improve competences on “green skills” through creative workshops made by the participants;
- To create awareness about Millennium Goals 2020 (Ensure Environmental Sustainability) and join forces in cleaning campaigns in their communities.
THE METHODOLOGY:
The exchange will be based on non-formal education and its holistic approach. Participants will improve their competencies through non-formal methods like brainstorming, group works, simulation, role play, open group discussion, open space for reflection, and other methods that trainers will adapt based on the needs of participants.
EXPECTED RESULTS OF THE EXCHANGE:
- The participants will re-think their choices, will become more aware of the upcycling practices and will implement these ideas to bring more environmentally healthy thinking to their communities and everyday lives. They will distribute the outcomes of the project by sharing the ideas with their peers and families and organizing bigger events to involve and educate their local communities.
THE PLANNED ACTIVITIES ARE:
- APV (Activity 1, A1, Preparatory visits): where 7 youth leaders (1 from each country) will take place.This is the moment where we create the programme altogether, taking into account the profiles, knowledge and interests of the participants.

Place: Maráska, Slovakia
- Youth Exchange: The main task here is to get to know each other and to attend team building activities. The activities are about the environmental realities and issues in each participating country. There will be different workshops during the exchange that cover each topic of upcycling and re-thinking, using non-formal learning methods. During the last days of the project, we will have a cleanup activity inspired by World Clean-Up Day.

ACCOMMODATION AND FOOD IS PROVIDED:
We will organise the travel and buy the tickets for you!
The course is implemented in the frame of the Erasmus+ Programme. The costs – including costs of full-board and accommodation during the program – will be covered by the organisers.
Participants are expected to cover insurance and any additional personal expenses.
If the participant fails to attend the event the organisers shall be compelled to charge him/her for any travel expenses covered by the organisers.

COVID19 PANDEMIC RELATED SAFETY MEASURES:
- We will involve participants only with a Covid19 antigene card or vaccination health card to ensure not just the participants but also our team members and the community’s health.
Checklist / What to do & what to bring:
- Health insurance documents: the health/ travel insurance is in the responsibility of the participants, make sure you are covered during your trip
- Participants will be asked to bring their European Insurance Card and we will have available transportation to a nearby hospital in case of emergency
