Gaming for Learning!
Exploring gamification in youth work
7th-15th December 2022, in Poronin, Poland
Organised by Fundacja Pro Futuro
The seminar will provide competences on educational and informational programmes for youth employability including on entrepreneurship education. Both theoretical and practical aspects will be addressed to increase conceptual understanding, skills and know-how on requirements for successful youth employability programmes on local level.
This project is about learning very interactive gaming methodologies that are used in youth work, therefore most of the training sessions are used for exploring specific games and debriefing the learning processes and gaming mechanisms. In this sense, this is not a “traditional” training programme, as the participants will spend the major part of the training discovering these games by playing them. The training focuses more on
de-constructing mechanisms of educative games and learning how to facilitate an aware learning process through debriefing with youth.
The training uses gaming methodological approaches for learning (or fostering learning of others), this is central to the project. As well the training enhances social and learning to learn competences, as it involves a wide range of individuals. It fosters a sense of solidarity and empathy, inter-personal communication and mutual understanding among others.
